Are there any certified umpires here?

I’ve been umpiring little league and some Pony league for four years now, and I’m wanting to get licensed now. Problem is, I really don’t have any idea of how to go about this. So, how do I become a licensed umpire?

My dad is (or was, I don’t know how long it lasts) a certified umpire for little league, high school, and pony league in Illinois, and he did it through the Illinois High School Association ([url=http://www.ihsa.org/]IHSA[/url). You might see if Indiana has a similar organization and if so, they license umpires.

Alternatively, I suppose you could go to the local high school’s next baseball game and ask their umpire how he got certified.

I just checked the IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association), and they don’t do baseball. I don’t know why, they did just about every other sport. I would ask an umpire, but the season just ended for our high school. Any other suggestions?

Garfield226, I didn’t mean to sound ungrateful. Those were both excellent suggestions. Thank you for your help.

Perhaps the Amateur Baseball Umpires’ Association can help you?
