We recently ditched our satellite service, and it’s pretty great - saving big money, and we can still watch most of what we like. What isn’t on broadcast TV is available on Hulu, iTunes, or the stations’ websites.
Except for stuff like True Blood and Dexter. I don’t see any obvious kosher ways to watch these online. Googling “watch Dexter online” brings up plenty of sites, but they all look plenty dodgy.
I’d be more than willing to pay to watch these shows online before they release on DVD, if that were an option. But I fear my only choices are do without, or sponge off friends who have HBO and Showtime. Please enlighten me if I’m wrong!
Sorry, can’t help you, but I hope someone comes through with an answer. I got hooked on Dexter when the second (I think) season replayed on one of the non-premium satellite channels; I’ve been hoping for more but no such luck. Can’t bring myself to buy into the premium channels for just one show. (Even without the premiums, my monthly Dish bill is $100!)
Yeah iTunes and Amazon are cool - thanks to iTunes I can still watch Top Chef as it airs and discuss it here!
The problem is, it looks like neither source has the current seasons for HBO or Showtime shows. I suspect they only release them for download when the season is over. Well, perhaps it will be a little quicker than the DVD release - I will keep an eye on it.
Sycorax, I got hooked on Dexter through Netflix Watch Instantly - they have seasons 1 and 2 available, if you’re a member.
