Such as the aboriginese(sp?).
By aboriginese I mean tribal in that sense, not that the abors are caucasian.
I’m not sure what you mean, if you mean tribes people in the Caucases, then yes there are loads in Afghanistan. However the racial theory that created the so-called caucasian race has been throughly discredited.
Fish means white aborigines…right? If so ->
I put a vote in for the Inuit peoples of the upper tundra regions of Alaska and Canada. They are not round eye white people but they are certainly more white than say an Afican or Australian aborigine.
Tangent: I had the chance to go visit a tribe of a buddy of mine when Mrs.Phlosphr and I were visiting her bro in Fairbanks, Alaska. Probably the most hospitable people I have ever met.
Judging by what The Master has to say, I would say that the average white American has more in common with the African or Aussie.
Isn’t there an aboriginal group of whites on an island off the coast of Japan?
Possibly you are thinking of the Ainu.
There are lots of aboriginal white people off the west coast of Ireland.
I mean on the islands not in the sea or anything like that.
How about the Lapps? I know many people comment on the “Asiatic” features of the Lapps, but I would imagine most would be considered “Caucasian”…some look vaguely Asian (Bjork is not a Lapp, but these are the features I would describe) while others look more Finnic. Since Caucasian is an imprecise term. I’ll limit it to Europe and adjacent areas.
And how about the “Irish Travellers”? They are not hunter gatherers or pastorialists, but they live in ‘tribal’ units outside of settled society. Also, around the fringes of European Russia there are many small ethnic groups, of different origins (Mostly Finno Ugric). Are some of them tribal?
And in parts of Albania and surrounding areas of the Balkans, people are organized in “tribal” groups, and there are small ethnic groups such as the Vlachs or Aromanians, Pomaks (Shi’ite Muslim Bulgarians), and Transyvannian Szeklers and other subgroups of Hungarians. These people can be considered “tribal” in that they generally are isolated from other ethnic groups, and have systems of social order outside of formal governments (such as clans, ethnic cheiftains, and so on). Perhaps 50 years of Communism ended a lot of those affiliations, but they did exist in recent times.
Parts of Europe are full of tiny ethnic groups that reflect the tribal origins of European peoples.
Yup.
Aren’t Inuit’s Mongoloid?
And by caucasian do you mean light skined, or have the skull struture of a caucasoid?
Afghanistan, Kurdistan, parts of Iran, most of the Arab world … many peoples there are still tribal. Especially the Arabian peninsula countries like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, etc., where practically all the natives are tribal.
Nuristan (in Afghanistan) and its corresponding area Kafiristan (on the Pakistani side) are not only tribal, they are the closest people in the world to answering your request for indigenous, aboriginal, primeval tribal peoples. (Who would be classified as “Caucasian” if there really were such a thing as “race,” which there isn’t.)
Well i hate to be pedantic… no i don;t i love it.
About 400 years ago ships crashed off the west coast of Australia. IE Batavia n Such. Some of the crew members survived and WERE taken in by the local people (Aborignal Australian). Some however were eaten … mmm taste liek chicken.
Anyway To this day White aboriginals are born with red hair and a unique euorpeon Skull shape.
So …"Are there any modern day caucasian tribal peoples?
Such as the aboriginese(sp?).
"
Yes. But hardly in the manner you think. Closest i could come up with would be Afgahn / Eskemos / Peopel who live in the elps/ Gilligans island
I’ve heard the Basque and the Etruscans described as European aborigines, but really don’t know enough about them to say.
How about Tennessee’s Melungeons?
The gypsies?
But if you were hoping to find blonde white women in grass skirts running around barebreasted in the forest, then you should check out the Rainbow Family Tribes.
They’re unreconstructed hippies.
In response to the OP, yes - they can be identified by which football team they support.
