An atmospheric, scary game with a map that you can roam around on? By newer, lets say the last three years.
I’ve been recently playing Resident Evil 7. It takes place in a Louisiana Bayou so there’s plenty of scary atmosphere. Also, the graphics are nearly photo-realistic so the game looks absolutely beautiful, in a creepy, disgusting, and plenty scary way. Finally, the game seems to have returned to its earlier roots. I thought the first four were fantastic, but 5 and 6 were horrible. This one is the best scary game I’ve seen in a long time.
Thanks. Straying away from 5 is a good thing. I’ll consider 7.

5 is fun if you have someone to play co-op with.
