I find it difficult to find interesting new music artists. Are there any sites, internet radio shows or podcasts that discuss interesting new acts? I remember a long time ago WBAI in NY used to have some very interesting shows about upcoming artists. Amazon has that ‘people who bought this CD also bought this one’ feature which is somewhat useful. At times I’ve even resorted to blindly sampling CDs issued on a particular day. I’ve learned from that exercise that there is an astounding amount of dreary, unimaginative music that gets issued.
The recent thread here about music that you instantly liked was great but i’m looking for an established site or podcast on that subject.

I am a HUUUGE fan of the Editor’s List at allmusic.com. Essentially, each month, a bunch of music snobs with great taste put together a list of albums from almost every different variety of music.
Another great feature: you can listen to 30 second snippets of songs on most (if not all) of the albums to determine if you like something.

Australia’s Triple J play an enormous variety of new music and stream over the net. I have been listening to the station for the last 37 years and it has kept my ears young. Lots of podcasts if you want takeaway.
