Sandbox runs software in an isolated environment. It’s designed to prevent any malicious software from damaging your pc. Any changes made by the software is contained inside Sandbox and are temporary. Everything goes away when Sandbox closes.
I haven’t tried running any win torrent clients in Sandbox. It’s worth trying.
Aha. That’s a feature I do not have enabled on my computer. Try opening Windows Security from the Start Menu, then click “App and Browser Control”, followed by “Reputation-based Protection”. From there, go to the section called “Potentially Unwanted App Blocking.” If the little switch says “On”, try turning it off.
If Tixati still doesn’t work, it may still be marked as being locked. You could go ahead and try downloading qBittorrent again. Or, if that fails, uninstall Tixati, then reinstall it in a different directory.
It may be one of the clients you installed did have a virus that’s now blocking any other client to be installed. Run an online or portable anti-virus as a check. Also run Malwarebytes.
Yes this (allow torrent software through your firewall); and anti-virus software is famous for setting off false positives, especially if there’s a crack exe involved. Someone may have mentioned this. I didn’t read every post.
Common sense is your greatest protection. If a site appears sketchy or wants you to download a special exe in order to download a file - avoid. To download a torrent you don’t require any special download exe other than your torrent software (such as uTorrent or qbittorrent).
