I just discovered the art of buying coupons on ebay, buying them will let me easily save $50 a month on my grocery bills as stores here double and sometimes triple coupons. Only problem is that most of these coupons expire within a month or two and that they are only sold in quantities of 20 or so. Some products, like pasta roni, that is ok with since they have a long shelf life, i eat alot of it, and i can use 20 coupons to buy 40 boxes. Another thing is ‘healthy choice’ meals. They are 1/2 off right now and coupons are being tripled. I just bought 40 coupons on ebay for $2, and i should get the stuff for about 85% off after sales & coupons are included in teh price. But i am not going to use all 40 and i bet about 30 will end up in the trash. Also for things like Oreos i dont need 20 ‘$1 off 2’ coupons as i don’t need 40 boxes of oreos, even though with doubling i will save 70% on them with those coupons.
So how should i handle this? Are there orgs of people who buy and trade coupons i can join? I’ve thought of it, but wouldn’t the mailing cost, which even though its only 0.37, pretty much defeat the purpose if i was sending and recieving 20-30 pieces of mail a month? So i guess i’d have to find or make a local club. Luckily im in a college town where everybody is poor but i don’t know where to start. Should i just put up flyers on local billboards saying something to the degree of ‘coupons can be had in bulk on ebay which, when combined with sales and doubling and tripling easily allow savings of 60%+ on your grocery bills, but nobody needs 60 cans of soup by the end of the month. join an organization that lets you trade and exchange coupons so you can save on your grocery bills’. Then leave an email address? Well, not that slogan but you get the idea?
Now all i need is to learn how to knit and play bridge and i can qualify as an old woman. someone show me how to do those things too. Actually i have a female friend who knows how to knit, maybe she can teach me. Hell, maybe she wants to join the coupon express.
