Are (US) rural/country pronunciations of "Arab" and "Italian" offensive?

There have been several threads on the Dope in the past about parents and elderly relatives who use not-so-politically-correct terms in their day-to-day vocabulary, unaware of their implications. You should be lucky that you have a very, very wise grandmother. :slight_smile:

Being that I’ve heard hundreds of Iranians pronounce it that way, I doubt there’s any actual problem with that pronunciation, at all.
