Are You A Cell Phone Nut Case?

I don’t have a cell phone and I don’t want a cell phone. but if I did:

THIS.

I don’t want a “3G” or a Blue tooth or “apps.” I wouldn’t want it making funny noises. Just a phone.

Even though I don’t have a cell phone, my wife does and on occassion I use it. When I travel for work I sometimes take a loaner phone with me. I’ve never used a cell phone that comes anywhere near the sound quality of a land line and I hate using them. On a cell phone, the above paragrpah would sound like:

Even th… I dn’t have a cl phe, my wife (skkzzz) on occassion use it. Whn I trl for I otimes take a loaner (zzzzzt) ne wit me. (You get the picture).

So all the bells and whistles mean nothing if I’m having to strain to make out a normal conversation.

I’m on my third cell phone. Having a decent connection seems to be totaly hit or miss, and so far for me, the phones don’t seem to have anything to do with it. I donno. It may be me, or people are just getting used to the two way radio sound of cell phones.

I rarely talk on a cell phone, and only use it for necessary conversations/sharing information. In this day and age, you sort of have to have one.

So, as long as I’m going to have it, I might as well have all the bells and whistles. I get very much use out of them. And hey, if I need to make a call, I can do that too.

Really, as a programmer, I need to be familiar with the tech. Or at least know the buzzwords. That’s one of the reasons I bought a Storm. Found out I really, really like it. Heck, I can use it as a modum for my laptop.

Nothing wrong at all with not wanting or needing one. I find that as people latch on to new stuff, suddenly they are lost with out it. When only a few months ago, they had never heard of it. Of course with pay phones going the way of the Dodo, cell phones are becoming more and more needed.

My data plan is $30 a month with Rogers, and it’s more data than I can ever use. I use my iPhone a lot, and haven’t even hit the half way mark on allotted data.

What brings the cost up is that’s it’s $30 a month for data PLUS whatever your voice plan is.
