Kimstu:
Why do you think that? I simply don’t see why anybody would go to the trouble of publicly ridiculing opinions that they themselves secretly agree with. This ain’t 1984 .
The only way this makes sense is if you think lots of racists are cowards who are so afraid of being considered racist that they are willing to loudly denounce racist sentiments even though they don’t actually disagree with them.
I somehow doubt that’s true, but if it is, that’s a good thing. I would prefer in general that racists not be racists in the first place, but if that’s not possible, I’m happy that they should be completely craven lily-livered cowards about openly expressing or condoning the racist views that they secretly support.
See and calling someone lily-livered cowards is racist. So you are secretly one of these people. Just like me but your the coward.
Marley23:
I realize that. You’re owning up to your own prejudices and not actually saying any other group of people is bad, but you’re wrong to say everybody thinks the way you do. I’m hoping that will sink in at some point.
Yeah, I’m not surprised you feel that way.
WHO ARE YOU CALLING “YOU PEOPLE?”
No, this is stupid. Not just because it’s wrong, but because it’s obvious you’re about to go off on a tangent and say something else that makes you look bad.
And I don’t. Now what?
Your assuming “You People” is racist. Your a closet racist too. Who the hell do you think I’ve been talking to for two days. You people…thats who.
Missed that smiley face, huh?

Sigh.
I’ve never used a smiley face in a post in my life.
chicagowhitesox1173:
I’m not trying to persuade anyone to hate another race. I do think people nowdays are way to sensitive when it comes to race though. You people are very sensitive about it. I try to make a few points and then I’m David Duke. I’m gonna tell you again, I don’t hate any race and I don’t think any race is smarter than another either. Every race is racist too, not just white people. I do think it’s getting to the point where other races feel it’s ok to pick on every white person though. I can get on the train or any bus and I’ll hear “whiteboy” way more than i’ll hear racial terms for blacks or Mexicans. I don’t like being called whiteboy and I don’t call anyone anyone racist names because I do know it’s wrong. But if I did, it would be a million times worse than if somebody of another race called me a racial slur.
The OP wasn’t intended to be a bucket list.
Calatin:
Sigh.
Jesus man, give me some time to get my grammar right. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

How do you figure that the expression “lily-livered coward” qualifies as racist?
Seriously, dude, the “lily” in “lily-livered” has nothing to do with “whiteness” in the sense of race or morphological characteristics.
The expression, dating back at least to the sixteenth century in English, refers to the idea of somebody having a “bloodless” or “weak” liver and consequently having no courage (because the liver was considered to be the physiological source of courage).
If you’re sensitive about the term, though, I’ll cheerfully withdraw it and substitute “faint-hearted cowards” instead.
The smiley face means Marley23 was joking.
There may be, but rather than lash out defensively, perhaps you should look inward and realize that some of your tendencies (like reacting badly if your daughter brings home a black guy) are negative, and should be improved.

I’m not offended by it but as sensitive as Marley is, some people might be.
Wow that’s a pretty funny joke.

Well I am getting a black neighbor next week. maybe I can invite them over and that way I won’t be a racist. Actually I’m looking forward to having them instead of the old lady who lives there now.
Actually that proves that you’re a racist. The old “some of my best friends are black” routine. Those are the worst ones. Ask anyone.

Do you have the faintest bit of hope this is going to get through to its intended target?
I’m not bothered because I know what that word means. If somebody says something that bothers me, I will let them know. Don’t do me any favors.

At this point, I would be grateful if someone told me that Mr. Sox is actually one, and a troll.
Pretty please?
Problem is that the “I was joking” routine is almost as bad …
And notice that his name isn’t “ChicagoRedSox…” or “ChicagoBlackSox…”
I don’t really have any black friends. When I was working, I would go out with a lot of the guys from work and there would be some black guys in the group. We would always talk about race and we would kid around with each other. I got along with them. But I’m not gonna call them up to hang out. See and we would usually end up talking about over sensitive people like you guys.
