Are you going to visit 2018 Winter Olympics (PyeongChang 2018)

The 2018 Winter Olympics aka PyeongChang 2018 starts in 9 February. Are you going to visit the winter olympic games?

No.

Been to South Korea twice, but no. I’m no going to be there at the time.

I’m sure it will be great, though.

I was at the Olympics in Korea last time and watched an American take the heavy weight gold metal from a Korean. I’ll never forget it. No chance of me going to this one though. I’m looking forward to watching it though.

I do wish to attend an Olympics but it’ll probably be the ones in Los Angeles

That was Ray Mercer.

The super heavyweight champion that year was Lennox Lewis. Hell of a lineup. Winning a gold medal at the Olympics is a very good sign a young man can be a top professional.

I have been to two summer games because I was living in the cities at the time: Montreal 1976 and Los Angeles 1984. They were fun. If I were in Korea I would consider going to the games. But I won’t travel for them.

That being said I’m a huge fan of the games, and I’ll definitely watch them on TV.

Actually, i was taking about tae kwon do. It was a huge embarrassment for the Koreans to not win the gold at a home Olympics in their national sport. My dad is convinced the only rwason he didn’t get stomped leaving was he had 5 year old me along.

Jimmy kim was the American medallist and got to meet him the day before and practice with the team.

I have a friend whose niece is in Korea (studying and/or teaching English I believe). The niece’s parents are combining a visit with their daughter with watching the Olympics.
They managed to get opening ceremony tickets along with some events.

I wish I could be there for the Olympics, but it just didn’t work out. I’m definitely disappointed; I’m in Korea for about month each year, but this February isn’t a good time due to my work and the kids’ school schedules. I did get to visit several of the event sites at multiple times (even went skiing there), just to see how the construction was going.

I highly recommend travel to Korea–it’s a friendly country and small enough that it’s easy to see a lot of it.
