I’m having the experience I have during Krispy Kreme threads. I think Twinkies taste just terrible. I am sorry not to share your pain. If it’s any consolation, neither do I revel in it.
No – but my next-door neighbor works at the bakery. Heh. Top that.
I’ve eaten deep-fried Twinkies. They had whipped cream and strawberry and chocolate sauce.
They were AMAZING, and I don’t like twinkies.
I don’t particularly like Twinkies anymore either. Probably haven’t had one in 15 years. But these threads remind me of my childhood. I used to save my allowance and on Friday afternoon I’d go to the store and buy a box of Fruity Pebbles and a box of Twinkies. Then on Saturday morning I’d get up early and spend the whole morning watching cartoons & wallowing in sugary bliss.
I was at the store yesterday & saw a package of Twinkies and almost bought them for old times’ sake, but decided not too. My memories of Twinkies are probably better than they would actually taste to my adult taste buds.
I feel the same way. They remind me of my childhood so I’d hate to see them go the same way as Post Crispy Critters and Space Food Sticks and a lot of those other things that really didn’t taste that good but we still loved them.
I think you really have to be in the right state of mind and starvation to have one and really enjoy it. I don’t have them very often at all, but I’d like to think they’ll still be there when I want one. Heck, the big joke about Twinkies is that they last forever, so they have to last for posterity.
