Are you ready?

Today (Tuesday, 8 November, 2011) is election day.

There will be a final blitz of those annoying negative local race ads. Then…

(A short break for annoying jewelry and toy ads… maybe, I hope.)

Right into Indigestion 2012. Money is speech. Speech is money. And the various media will try to glom up as much of it as they can, because they can be as greedy as they want and call it a ‘public service’, too. And rank hooey, patent snake oil and industrial grade hogwash shall flow like a mighty river throughout the land… Many will lap it up like milk and honey… many more will curse…

And in the end, not much will really change. We have the best government money can buy, and “We the People” were actually outbid long ago.

Yippee! :dubious:

Moving this rant to the Pit from Elections.

My ballot includes but a single issue. Should we increase sales tax by .125% to fund the zoo? Not one person running for anything in this district.

So, no Koch brothers takeover here. Neato rant though.

Ah, you’re in my neck’o’the woods.

I saw a whopping 3 people at my polling place, and now I wonder if 2 of them were superfulous election workers. Not a big turnout for this one.

Ours had a few, but I was mainly interested in one: legalizing Sunday alcohol sales.

Glory be to Whomever, it looks like we might actually cross the Bridge to the 20th[sic] Century within my lifetime.

Don’t you mean “the 20th[hic] Century”?
