But September was not an option! August was the option, and August is definitely summer.
(Where I live, April is the snowiest month. It doesn’t seem at all like summer.)

I’m confused. In the Southern Hemisphere? I was in Tasmania in July or August years ago (circa 1992), and it was definitely winter. Even snowed. I guess it does depend on how far south you are.
Missed #4. Didn’t have my glasses on and couldn’t see the difference between a period and a comma.
Missed #10 & #11. Didn’t want to waste time on the math.
I still think #17 should be nine. The only square.
I got #18. Figured it out once I saw the A x A = A. This used to be a code for WWII prisoners.
Missed #19. I also went for April.
So I’m taking 16. That puts my score at 40.
nitpick: Fitzgerald’s score is 50. That’s score, not raw points. {/nitpick}
Which two did you get right?
I only got through 11 in 5 minutes but I would have gotten through all if I had skipped the math ones. I missed the spot the error one and 18.
I only missed #18 - but I’m trying out for Place Kicker anyway, so I should be OK.
Don’t feel bad, aceplace. I think most of the people laughing at your post are secretly thinking, “Thank goodness it wasn’t me this time.”
Or is that just me?
Speaking of IQ, I need to go to bed, by this time of night my intelligence starts slipping steadily downwards. With the headache I’ve got now, I’m just lucky to not have posted something like “2 + 2 is 5… why are you all snickering?”
D’oh! Still tho - I have been snowed IN at Lake Tahoe California (California/Nevada - state boarder - USA) in late April where I had to call into work thinking I might not make my shift. Not summer by any stretch in THIS hemisphere? Seriously “Road-closing-down-snow”… Like, took 11 hours to get home to San Francisco (usually a 4.5/5 hour drive depending on your leadfoot.)
Even though I understand them perfectly, I’m too slow at calculating by hand to finish 10 and 11 in a timed test, and 18 I didn’t understand.
With an Excel spreadsheet, I can answer question 10 easily. But I’m sure there is a simple way to do the calculations without an unwieldy spreadsheet that I’m just not seeing. What would be the quick and elegant reasoning/calculation process necessary to prove the answer to the question?
(And as the editor of a small journal that usually lays out 400-800 words per page depending on the graphic elements, I too laughed when I saw the 1800-2400 words per page parameters. Optimists.)
What’s with the “Febtober” and “Febtoday” business? Are they typos or deliberate?
