Are you smarter than a 5th grader? A quiz.

Apparently I’m class dunce. I only got 78%.

2 wrong: turtles and incas

2 wrong - prime number and autumn equinox.

I always thought 1 was a prime but now I know and knowing is half the something or other.

I have a picture of me (10 or 11) touching all four states at once. Yes, I was on all fours but I was a kid so it was ok.

I got the primes wrong, US Represntative wrong (I also read it as President), and the turtles wrong.

Oooohhhh… now I get it. :smack: That makes sense, I just neglected to think that part of it through.

I got a 78%. You know, some of us USAians aren’t really all that concerned with which four big blocky states meet up together either. When you live on the East Coast, the middle of the desert is pretty much like a foreign country.

Also, who the hell knows when the autumnal equinox is without guessing anyway? And I love astronomy, but that is not something that is very important or memorable. I mean, when’s the last time you heard about an autumnal equinox celebration party?

Stupid test. I’m going to go find myself an eleven year old and beat him up.

You know when Fall starts, right?

Peru.

I only missed the prime number, because I didn’t know about that little “distinct” detail requirement in the definition of a prime number.

My actual 5th grader son got a 66% though, so I can lord it over him and feel important.

(just kidding, I wouldn’t do that to him.)

100% - yay, team.

100%

Sixth grade here I come.

100%, though I guessed about the fastest bird.

If 1 were a prime number, numbers wouldn’t have a unique prime factorization.

I guess I’m the only person who doesn’t know how many sides a heptagon has. And count me in among the people who doesn’t know what the lowest prime number is. (Well, now I know.) 89%.

100%. It’d be reassuring to know that most real life 5th graders in the U.S. could pass this test but I have my doubts.

Yes, sometime after summer. When it starts to not be scorching hot everyday, and leaves start turning color. As for the exact date or even the month, I don’t have any idea. For instance, I know that the first official day of summer should be coming up here in the next 2 or 3 months because it is getting warmer. The exact dates of these things are nifty facts that the weatherpeople know so they can make their weather reports more interesting.

The Solstices are on/around Dec and June 21st, the Equinoxes are roughly the 21st of March and September. (It can vary by a couple of days, but that’s the general time)

89% missed the 4 corners :smack: and heptagon. According to the replies I have read to this thread, I am the only doper that does did not know how many sides a heptagon has. I feel so ashamed, now they are going to hold me back a year. :frowning:

One wrong - The turtle question

Same here. One wrong and that was it.
