Are you tall enough?

If you have problems with another poster, take it to the BBQ Pit, don’t post like this in a topic out of that forum.

Male, 6’ even. Tall enough, unless we move to the metric system.

Male, 191 cm. I’m happy with that.

The annoying bit is having a 203cm wingspan which makes it hard to get jackets off the rack but I’ve got used to it.

Male, 6’1" and I’m fine with it, I just wich I didn’t have freakishly big feet that make packing an extra pair of shoes a pain in the ass.

6’2" tall - tall enough to be “tall”, not so tall as to make it a major pain, usually.
I’m not find of flying coach, and I don’t quite fit in my wife’s MX-5 (Miata in the States).
On the other hand, being able to see further in crowds is a definite plus. The thought of being in a crowd, not being able to see out, being hemmed in…gives me the cold shivers.

6’2" male

I wish I could find gloves more easily, other than that; 6’2" is the ideal height for a human.

6’3" Male, I’m happy with that, but am slowly shrinking, used to be 6’4".

Flying coach sucks, but some of the airlines have that stretch seating which really, really helps.

I get a little freaked out when I run into people taller that me. Especially if it’s 2 or 3 guys. It’s just uncommon.

Male, short - used to be 5 foot 6 but last time measured was definitely closer to 5 foot 5. Also built a bit like Toulouse-Lautrec, fairly short legs and longer trunk. And bald.

Tall enough? Sure. My feet reach the ground. So I am not “too short.” Just right? Be real. Sure it would have been nicer, especially when younger, to have been more in the upper half than the lower 5%. But I haven’t worried about or cared in well over 30 years (40 maybe); “too cool” is not a phrase generally associated with me but still, no I don’t worry about that shit.

I am tall enough, not just right, and cool with that. My wife has never cared about my height; she does miss my full head of curly hair though …

Female, 5’8", and fine with that.

I’m moderately tall. So I can normally see where I’m going in a crowd, and can reach top shelves in the supermarket, but not tall enough for it to be unusual and even harder to get clothes (LavenderBlue, I assure you the extra height doesn’t help that much for finding a good fit).

I had a really early growth spurt and was far the tallest in my class at school (and taller than the head teacher by 10), so I’ve had a try at being tall. A few more inches of height would be fine, though I wouldn’t like to be much shorter, but I’m quite happy where I am.

I’m 5’7", which is above-average height for a woman. But it’s in a weird zone of classification. No one would describe me as “tall”. A tall woman is someone who is 5’9 and above, IMHO. So I’m above-average, but not enough to be a super model. Damn!

I wish I were just a tad shorter, though. Like half an inch. I can get away with wearing pants with a 32" inseam, but just barely. I think I show too much shoe when I walk, and a little too much ankle when I sit down. If I were just a teeny bit shorter, my pants would look better on me.

Try motorcycle jackets, the sleeves are longer so you are covered when reaching for the bars.

I sometimes do the half thing because measurements are finicky. I was 6’3’’ getting measured for my ban uniform. But I usually measure around 6’2", though sometimes it’s more like 6’1.5." So sometimes I take a weighted average and say 6’2.5", though lately I’m satisfied with it just being 6’2", and thinking that the professional measurers were off.

My dating profiles still all say 6’3", however. I haven’t bothered changing them. But I think I’m fine with my height now. It was only that band uniform measurement that made me want to be taller.

I’m 6’2" (187 cm), which I’m very happy with. Could be a couple of inches shorter with no complaints, because then economy class airline seats would be less of a challenge, but on the other hand I’m not so tall that everything starts to become difficult - like walking through doors or standing in train carriages.

Male, 185cm ( 6’1" ). I have two brothers that are taller than me, so I am cool with being the runt of the litter.

Flying coach does suck though…

Way too goddamn tall at 6’8".

I’d love 6’2"…I’d even do 6’, which is a perfectly respectable height for a man.

And there have been plenty of times during a run that I wish I was 5’7" and about 135. I usually snap out of that, though.

TADAAAAAA!!

Huh, I am 5’2" and 1/2" and usually give the 1/2, but I think I do that just for comedy. I don’t really mind being short, as others have mentioned the legroom issue is nice to not worry about (and my legs are proportionally short to my short body!).

I have 6’+ brothers too. It is kind of a pain to not be able to reach a lot of stuff but there’s workarounds for that. Also having to hem every pair of pants is a bit of a trial but you can always take off fabric, I suppose the tall girls have more of a problem finding long enough pants.

I’ve been 5’5" since high school, which is just about average height, but I wish I were about two inches taller. :frowning:

At 5’6” I am a tall enough female to reach most shelves and am happy with that. My 6 foot husband can get the rest if a step stool is not handy.

My father is 6’3" and I always thought he was just a tad too tall for practical purposes, and wanted to be 6’2". I never quite made it, but close enough, at 6’1". I’m happy with that.

Wow. I grew 6" in one year, but at age 13, when a lot of guys were shooting up. (I grew only 3 inches after that.) As I recall, it hurts, growing that fast!

All my height is in my legs. I’m really a smallish person with long limbs. In college I’d sometimes meet a gal while eating in the dining hall and we’d be the same height, sitting. At the end of the meal we’d get up and her head would come up to my chin. That was good for a laugh.

So, I have size 9 feet, making it easy to find shoes. And you know what they say about men and shoe size, wink wink … oh wait, never mind.

I would like to have just slightly bigger hands, so I could play Dr. John arrangements. I’m one note short on my left hand. :frowning:

I’m tall enough that my feet touch the ground when I stand on tippy toe, so I reckon I’m good.
