Areas of English I struggle the most with

What areas of English do I seem to struggle the most with here!!:eek::eek::eek:

1.Do I leave out a lot of words when I type.

2.I have problems with past ,present and future tenses

Word changing problems.

I pick the right word!! but not picking the proper way the word fits in.

company vs companies. want vs wanted. suppose vs supposed.

suppressess vs suppress.

3.Punctuation the lack of punctuation or not used in proper way.

4.run-on sentences

  1. I’m not using enough commas and periods when I write.

Here are some threads to get idea how I write.

Is the war on cancer an utter failure?

Why are drugs so hard to make and take so long to come out on the market?

Star Wars hover car /hovercraft invented

protectionism and globalization

And what areas of English I need to work on by looking at some of my writing here.

Out of curiosity, what’s your native language?

  1. Ending a sentence with a preposition (“with”).

The best way to get better at writing, IMHO, is to do more reading. While there are a lot of great posts and posters here on SDMB, and a higher level of writing than a lot of other places on the internet, I would still recommend book reading to improve your understanding of how English works. In this case, more is better. Find a writer you like and read.

English is not Latin. No reason not to end a sentence with a preposition if that sounds most natural.

Not to mention, if that’s in reference to the thread title: it’s not a sentence!

You also seem to have trouble using spaces where they need to go.

The first thing you need to do is start applying the rules you know and understand consistently. If you can’t do that then there’s little point in trying to learn more.

More power to you, Sweat209. There’s always room for improvement, certainly, but the fact that you post pretty prolifically in your non-native tongue is impressive. The best way to learn how to write is indeed by reading…but not just any random text…you would do well by reading respectable English language journalism and perhaps some good fiction.
