Aretha to Beyonce: I *am* the Queen!

See here at this link to the MSNBC story. Apparently at the Grammy’s, Aretha performed, but when Beyonce Knowles introduced Tina Turner, she (B) lavishly called her (T) “the queen.” And, well, since Aretha is the Queen - let none call her anything different - she was not amused.

Rowr - hiss!

I’d say that Aretha chewed Beyonce up and spit her out but based on the picture I don’t think Aretha’s spit anything out recently.

I guess even royalty can be petty.

Well…She is the Queen.

P-U-D-D-I-N-G. Feed the Queen A-S-A-P.

Stupidest thing to be outraged over…ever.

I have always held up Aretha Franklin (please, no big lady jokes, remember when she sings she blows people’s minds and everyone wants to party with her) to my kid and her friends as being the ultimate female artist. I am disapointed that she would be so un-queen-of-soul like.

Time to cue Steely Dan’s “Hey, Nineteen.”

I know Beyonce’s 26, but she’s still a young 'un to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now, who actually thinks that Beyonce’ had anything to do with writing that intro?
If anyone deserves criticism, it would be the writers.
Now to the point- who IS the Queen of Soul? This must be settled with broadswords, Highlander-style- There can be only one!
