Please help me? I can remember from the occaisional comic books I got to read a female mutant who could fly. NOT STORM! She was, I believe a member of the X-Men but I might be mis-remembering. She was around before Storm, she was there when Storm was first found IIRC. She could fly, she wore a cloak with a cowl (It had a bird beak point on it, and I think her name was a bird name but maybe not.) and you didn’t ever see her full face. Her speech bubbles were different, like she was whispering or speaking telepathically or in a cold or strange tone of voice. They looked kinda prickly or shivery. She was an empath and could take away or give emotion. I remember she was in a comic put out as part of the “Just Say NO” campaign. She was with Cyclops and some others for the comic. (Superman and Spiderman also had special “Just Say NO” comics as well.) She was driven insane for a time because she tried to calm a drug addict and took their madness into herself. Cyclops and the others had a hard time stopping her, they didn’t want to hurt her. I think she is permanently dead but I don’t remember how. What is her NAME?!! Who was she, what was her story and what comics did she appear in?
Sounds like Jean Grey or Rogue
Well, the only character that I can think of that matches your description is Raven. She has a bird name, flies, wears a cloak with a bird beak cowl that covers her face, had different speech bubbles, was dead for a while, and has empathic powers. Of course, she isn’t a Marvel character, but I can’t think of any mutant that meets your description. I’m also not aware of any X-Men drug awareness comics, though the Teen Titans had 3 in the early 1980s.
Does sound a lot like Jean Grey, aka Phoenix.
If it was a cross-company crossover, it could have been Raven.
< shakes fist > Darn you, **cckerberos ** !
Are you absolutely sure that it’s an X-Man, cause it sounds like Raven from Teen Titans to me as well.
I think you might be right. Didn’t she have cameos in X-men or work with them at times?
Yes, it is Raven from Teen Titans.
No she didn’t cameo. Teen Titans is by DC, and Xmen is Marvel. So no crossovers there.
I do remember an X-Men vs. Teen Titans from a ways back. I want to say it was around the dark phoenix saga. Maybe that’s what you were thinking of Zabali.
Really? Wow. My bad. I just was making an assumption based on publishers.
Yeah, I remember a Teen Titans “Just Say No To Drugs” special from the '80s, and there was also a Teen Titans/X-Men crossover from the early '80s. The character is Raven, without a doubt.
From Wikipedia, here’s a pic of the cover of a Teen Titans/X-Man crossover with Dark Phoenix.
There are plenty of cross-company crossovers over the years.
In fact, about a decade ago, they had 2 or 3 crossover series that are (or were) actually in-continuity (Marvel vs DC/DC vs Marvel/Amalgam, All Access, Unlimited Access), then the JLA/Avengers crossover, which is (was) also in continuity.
Random sampling of other, OOC cross-company x-overs:
Superman/Spider-Man, Silver Surfer/Green Lantern, Darkseid/Galactus, Batman/Captain America, and quite a few others.
There are also cross-company crossovers with other companies:
JLA/Cyberforce (DC/Image), Batman/Judge Dredd (DC/2000AD), and Batman/Grendel (DC/Dark Horse) being the first to come to mind, although I’m sure there’s more.
Ahah…a list of them, on Wiki.
That is one wicked comic. I was a die-hard marvel nut, but after that I actually read TT for a while. Great stuff.
