Armed raid into Syria

You’re not aware of his proposal to pull the troops out in 2008?

I get the feeling that you’re engaging in rhetoric, rather than soliciting a serious answer. But I’ll bite.

Grant that Castro had compelling evidence that said condo development was materially involved in an ongoing threat to Cuba, and of course it’d be kosher. And the killing of three innocent American kids would be tragic, and it’d be our fault for allowing them anywhere near where we were conducting military operations.

Well your answer is fair and I appreciate it.

I don’t believe the US government would take an “oops our fault” response to it though.

His original proposal was to pull the troops out in Spring 2008. He made that proposal in January 2007. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/30/AR2007013001275.html)

Since it is a phased pull-out, and it hasn’t started yet, doesn’t that suggest that he’ll have to wait 'till he’s president to begin the roll-up?

As if it matters:

Iraq wants all US troops gone by end of 2011

Doesn’t matter what Obama wants, doesn’t matter what McCain wants. Doesn’t mean shit to a tree. Here’s your hat, there’s the door, hello, you must be going.

Yes, it does matter. They aren’t a sovereign country; they are a conquered colony of America. Obama might choose to leave, but the Iraqis have no say in the matter.

Well, yeah. Just because something isn’t in violation of the Rules of War doesn’t mean one has to be happy about it.

Maybe he is smart enough to learn as situations change instead of closing his mind, eyes, and ears. Maybe he is flexible enough to handle new situations. Who the hell knows if and why he changed his mind. Why is this question burning you the way it is? Obama changed his mind, oh dear. I change my mind about some things quite often. Do you? Or are you content to just spout the same mindless drivel for the remainder of your life?

Probably not, no. But that wouldn’t make those kids death any less “our” fault, IMO.

I guess what I’m saying is, if there are folks using Syrian farmhouses to stage fighter-smuggling into Iraq, I think it’s their fault if there were civilian casualties. US troops certainly share some of the responsibility, but it can’t see it being our soldiers fault.

This is great news. A wonderful opening to get the hell out now. No way can the US allow any Iraqi jurisdiction over American personnel associated with the US military. Any sense of American responsibility is over.

True that.
