Armies marching on their stomachs

Not food but water,we were in the M/E out in the middle of nowhere and radioed for a resup of water as we were taking on a distinct prune like nature.( due to being on short rations,in the liquid department for some time .)

We were well dug in and very, very well camouflaged.

We saw the resup chopper looking for us but they couldn’t see us and our professionalism ensured that we stayed in cover.

Stayed in cover that is until it looked like it had given up and was going to fuck off home.
(Air crew can get really, really moody if they miss teatime back at base)

So eventually we attracted their attention by a half naked sargeant breaking from cover and waving his weapon around(When that didn’t work he tried again with his firearm)
We were rather thirsty.

Luckily no one with unfriendly intentions noticed his performance .

Note to [BTamerlaneB] my experience of modern day Turkish troops is that they are very, very tough, not surprisingly as their discipline is Draconian.

During resistance to interrogation training they were given as the example of a nations troops whos men became P.O.W.s in the Korean war without a single one of them collaborating in any way with the enemy.

Turks are amongst my favorite soldiers. S.L.A. Marshal probably did not fabricate his wonderful explanation of why Turks were so tough as POW’s.
