I try to work out everyday. Went in this morning at 4:30, got out around 6. good workout, felt great. No ‘floppy arms’, weakness or pain. Now 3 hours later…ugh! I’m all weak, tired and got the floppy arm syndrome, where I really don’t think I can lift them over my head if I tried.
Its a new workout (2 weeks into it), but it seems kind of common. I don’t feel the effects until after a couple of hours. Odd, I would have thought I would be feeling this way immediately after the workout, not 3 hours later.
I feel your pain. Saturday I de-iced the driveway. No idea how much the huge chunks of compacted snow and ice weighed, but when I was done my back and arms ached a little. Yesterday morning we hit the gym, did my usual treadmill / bike / machines routine. Felt fine.
By 9pm last night I could barely move, my body hurt so much. Today I’m still hobbling around like an arthritic 80 year old.
DOMS-delayed onset muscle soreness. Its common after workouts or heavy exertion. It usually hits the day after the activity but that can vary depending on the person.
