This show must be so much fun to film.
Huh. Was that the show that GM mentioned and they bleeped out?
The natural following question being: Did Fox actually make them bleep it out?
-Joe
I doubt it. We did have Buster saying he liked Dancing With The Stars.
Nah, he liked Skating with Celebrities, which is a Fox show.
That was brilliant. I also got a bit choked up at “It was Arrested Development.” Sniffle. I hope the DVDs are available soon.
Sweet. Emails sent. Thanks!
It was also, at long last, the culmination of rumors that Justine Bateman was going to guest star as a gal who got involved with Michael.
The other thing that’s great there is that they’re just to couple to try an ‘alternative birth.’ Doesn’t seem to be working too well!
Oh! Thanks! I missed that one. I remember thinking it was odd that the cupboard was empty.
And how great was she? Seems a shame that we may only get to see her for only one epsiode if Showtime doesn’t pick it up! A far better guest star that Martin Short and Charleze Theron (speaking of Theron… I loved the cut away to her being the top exec somewhere).
Did anyone else hear this exchange:
Michael: Well, they’ve put an N. Bluth on the witness list.
GOB (as Franklin): That better not stand for what I think it does!
I don’t remember that, but my friend did. Maybe I was laughing over it or something and missed it.
That could be one of the funniest lines of that episode.
Hmmm… is that supposed to refer to Frankling thinking the “N” stands for the most common slur for black people? If not, then I don’t get it.
I didn’t get to read the whole thing (and it looks like my VCR didn’t work) but there was some comment about her working at Universal, and then a cutaway to a Variety headline about a “Uni-Tard.” I was gasping at that one.
I liked Lucille’s lies about Vodka going bad. It got even funnier when she apparently didn’t know that fruit juice does go bad - and becomes alcohol.
And what’s up with Justine Bateman? She’s sexy, funny, a decent actress…why doesn’t she have a series or appear in more movies?
Yeah. You can hear GM start with the V sound before the bleep kicks in. I doubt Fox actually made them bleep it though. I’m pretty sure The Simpsons have mentioned shows on other networks before, though I can’t think of one off-hand. But anyway, they probably thought it was just more funny to bleep the title and add the reference to the “high school private eye drama” in a subtitle.
“Everybody Loves Raymond” (shudder) was mentioned on the Simpsons, I think. I know they kept saying “Monday nights on CBS” alot at the end of the episode where Ray guest stars.
It’s kind of a shame that they didn’t get Steve Holt into any of these episodes. I did see “S. Holt” in Maeby’s date planner.
The kids who play George Michael and Maeby are guest starring on *Veronica Mars * a few episodes from now.
Yeah, I’d have liked to see a Barry Zuckercorn and Bob Loblaw sit-down too. Maybe working as entertainment lawyers at the end, during the meeting between Ron Howard, Maebe and the exec.
GM was going through the phonebook looking for people to invite to Maeby’s sweet sixteen. He actually said something like “no reason to invite Steve Holt”.
No, I think my favorite joke was the partially-hung “Risky Business” banner, the limping guy, the knocked-over ladder, and the man without pants lamenting his actions that caused the accident.
Referential. Subtle. Brilliant.
