Not only the best AD episode I’ve ever seen, but one of the best half hours of television. I had no idea Ben Stiller was going to be on and it ended up being possibly his best character ever.
“My brother’s widow. It’s fucked up.”

“My brother’s widow. It’s fucked up.”
I don’t even know what to say. “Use your Allusion” If you want to throw in a reference but not Poe. Ben Stiller is the best.
Some band had the rights to that… now it’ll be ‘Use Your Illusion II’
“You have a piece of lettuce on your shoulder”
Doctor: “I’m sorry, there’s nothing more I can do for your son…”
collective gasp
Michael: “Wait. Let him finish.”
After last week, I was let down by this one. Can they please stop with the guest stars? It’s like they’re bringing in all of my least favorite comedians to remind me how good AD is without them.
I did like the driving lesson and the obvious reference to the show’s problems with FOX at the beginning (“you asked us to build 22 houses and now you’re only asking for 18?”).

Damn, I completely missed that!
Funny ep, though not as good as last week’s IMO.
“We think it’s a terrorist training camp”
“Boo-Yah!”
This episode was seriously hilarious.
I loved the bit where Michael’s assistant said she had rabies and how the doctor has to three operations on the poor guy.
As usually the coming attractions were equally funny. Job’s fingers getting switched was laugh out loud stuff.
That was absolutely HILARIOUS!
Doctor: The appendix wasn’t so inflamed - d’oh!
Lucille: I knew it!
I wasn’t the only one that realized Dan Castellaneta was the doctor, was I? The voice of Homer Simpson?
“We think it’s a terrorist training video”
“This kid has some great moves”
“I didn’t know we had taquitos”
“It could be your colon. I’d want to get in there and find some answers.”
The Mission Accomplished banner
“He just had his first hop-on”
“I was going to videotape that hop-on!”
“Ancient Chinese Secret, huh?”
“Still, where’d the lighter fluid come from?”
“Looks like you’re looking for dragons. In the future.”
“You’re losing blood, aren’t you?”
“Probably. My socks are wet.”
“I second the sanctuary, but with a clause of silence.”
The Family Guy popups on Tony Wonder’s website - incidentally, did anyone else laugh at the fact that Tony Wonder’s illusions were all bread-themed? Get it? Wonder bread? Ha ha ha! And his assistant’s name was Candida.
I mean, every scene in this show has something laugh-out-loud funny in it. Unreal.
Oh hell, I just realized that was another swipe at FOX. That exact same pop-up [or bug, as it’s called in TV jargon] runs during Arrested all the time. I hope they’re not burning their bridges here.
I loved Tony Wonder’s W goatee. Oh what a horrible industry that would cancel this show while Yes, Dear will outlive Sunny von Bulow.
Buster: “I was hoping for a graham cracker.”
Tobias’s awful fake mustache and George’s protective turban.
I just hope Fox doesn’t eventually replace AD with something like “Stacked” or “Life on a Stick”
I liked the description of the whistle blower as “rabid and disgruntled.”
(And I totally missed 18 of 22!)
Anyone else love that Tobias is now interacting with George, Sr.?
And that Maeby is still a producer?
Oh, but they will. They’re Fox. They’re probably wondering if enough people forgot about “Joe Millionaire” that they can revive it.
Yes and yes. And I liked the bit with George-Michael seeing them both driving. Looks like they might be getting George Sr. out and about a little more, since the government thinks he’s in Iraq now.
Has anyone been paying attention to how many episodes we’ve seen this season? With the reference to “18 out of 22,” I figure we have to be pretty close to THE END. Events also seem to be wrapping up little by little: the media thinking George Sr. is hiding in Iraq (presumably to get the heat off him), the Bluth Company moving downstairs so they can stay in business without building the extra houses, the Bluth family docu-drama Carl Weathers is producing with Tobias playing George Sr., and injuries left and right.
This week was the fifteenth episode, and we know the season ends on April 17th. So we have three left, and then who knows.
Wow, my math is great today. We have two left. Interestingly on FOX’s site, yesterday’s (“Sword of Destiny”) is listed as episode 17, which means 15 and 16 are left. Weird. So we’ve got one rerun in there too.
I hope the situation’s not as dire as your last sentnece makes it sound, but something I’ve been noticing: I never see promos/ads for AD except on Sunday night - I may be wrong, but they don’t seem to advertise it at all during the rest of the week. Don’t know if that means anything.
If Fox does drop it, which I wouldn’t doubt, I still maintain that HBO could pick it up (and get some good promotion behind it) - and they could still bleep out the cursing, because it’s just funnier that way. I saw an ad on IFC the other day for new Greg The Bunny episodes - maybe it’ll become a trend with discarded Fox comedies.
So if they showed 17 out of order and 15 and 16 are left, what about 18?
