Arrested Development second season premiere

Yeah, I don’t think that was really Michael Moore. They would have shown his face and made sure you knew it was him it was a guest cameo. Though that part was totally unexpected by me (in retrospect, I don’t know why ;)) and utterly hilarious.

And Oscar showing up out of nowhere and getting the snot beat out of him all the time seemed fun. And there seemed to be some indication that Buster may have been Oscar’s kid.

The “On the next episode” segments never show up on the next episode. As you note, they are used to resolve subplots of that week’s episodes. If you own the season 1 DVD set, Mitchell Hurwitz explains that these were tossed into the pilot episode as a joke, and when Fox bought the series they were kept in.

As for guest stars, how could I forget Kevin Mcdonald (<i>Kids in the Hall</i>) in the second-to-last episode of last year? And apparently Martin Short will be showing up this year. Although I haven’t heard anything lately about the rumor that Justine Bateman, Jason’s sister, would make an appearance as Jason’s love interest (!!!).

If that rumor is true, then that love affair better NOT have any kissing… ewww

It was hilarious. I laughed the whole way through. It has the best writing on TV. I like the scene with the second brother (always forget his name) getting approval by the board:
“This looks like a $100 bill. Or is it 100 pennies?”
(flash and pennies rain down. Board members scramble onto the table to gather up all of the pennies)

I just love the absurdity of the portable staircase, which seems to make it into quite a few episodes. And the subtitle “Home of Chemical and Mrs. Ali” when showing the illegally constructed house. The little touches and the interfamily dynamics (especially with Kitty being the most manipulative bitch imaginable on top of everything) make the show.

I think you mean Lucille - Kitty is George’s faithful secretary that Gob tried to make-over for sex - “Hair UP. Glasses off. Alright, glasses on, hair down.”

Most of the time they don’t, but I can recall at least one episode where they did.

The teaser where “catlike”" Dr. Tobias Funke (David Cross) breaks into Julia-Louis Dreyfuss’s house and she grabs the baseball bat appears the next week.

Speaking of David Cross, add fellow Mr. Show host Bob Odenkirk to the list of cameos.

Also, add the narrator’s legendary brother.

He was the inept marriage counselor for Linsey and Tobias, who decided that he wanted to become an actor too! It was good fun to see Cross and Odenkirk riffing off each other again in those scenes.

Huh. I’ll have to check my DVD set.

The narrator’s legendary brother?

Clint Howard. Can’t remember what episode he was on, though.

Thank you! Johnny Bark. Now I remember.

By the way, a really well-done fansite for AD is the Balboa Observer-Picayune, if anyone is interested.

The basic flaw to the Kevin Bacon game is that it should really be the Clint Howard game–had Bacon not been in “Apollo 13” with him half the connections would vanish.

Incorrect. The linchpin to the Kevin Bacon game is “Bob Roberts”. EVERYONE is in that movie. And the more important co-star from “Apollo 13” is Tom Hanks.

Also “JFK”. It’s almost cheating to use that movie.

We had a “no using J.T. Walsh” rule. That is the key to the Kevin Bacon game! He is a one step link to SHAQ!
