I remember Frye from his golden years, and always thought that his impressions were better than the much more successful *Rich Little. Rather sad story.
*For the youngsters: Back in the day, there were comics whose specialties were imitating other celebrities. Not much of a living now, as a) there’s not much interest in that sort of thing, and b) people have been so homogenized that it’s not easy to create a decent caricature.
