Anway, how about “Big Country” - they came pretty close.
This is my favorite example of this.
I don’t think that Big Country had any self-titled albums though. “In a Big Country” came from The Crossing.
Another almost example is “Wilco (The Song),” which is the opening track on Wilco’s Wilco (The Album).
Back in my college radio days, my big joke was to call it “Talk Talk by Talk Talk, from the album Talk Talk, on Talk Talk records and tapes.”
Yeah, I wasn’t all that funny in college.
Remember when the music ads used to promote the record company with “records and tapes,” such as “available on Columbia records and tapes”? It all seems so long ago, now … you never hear anybody talk about “on iTunes records and tapes!”
