Arvo Part: Alina - simply sublime

I am almost ashamed to admit that until last year I had never heard of the genius I now know as Arvo Part. And now that I am more familiar with Part, I must add that I am embarrassed to have never heard his beautiful Alina until last week.

If you enjoy touching tranquility in music, with repetition of simple but glorious melodies, you absolutely must get hold of Alina. Never have I heard a more sublime piece. I realize now that my life has been incomplete. Learn from my mistake :wink:

I love his music too. We sang another beautiful piece of his, the Berliner Mass, last year.

I really love Arvo Pärt; I have as much of his music as I can afford, and will eventually have more than I can afford.
