Seriously, what is with the cat urine smell in Asian markets? My roomate tells me it is bamboo. I have eaten quite a bit of bamboo, and I never notice the cat pee smell. It it really bamboo?

Asian markets to me just have a mix of a slightly sweet “rotting fruit” smell, mixed in with motorcycle ehaust. Never noticed cat pee.
My above post refers to markets in Asia. The Asian markets here in Australia just smell vaguely of mixed spices and incense.
