Yes. It’s the winery name. Definitely not the grape name.

I would like to find a wax pencil or something like that so I can write some info on every bottle I get. I realize I could use tags or an Excel worksheet or somesuch, but knowing me if I don’t mark directly on the bottle it will eventually be lost. Do you know of a good instrument for doing this and where to find one?

Also, I used to have a nice cool, dry basement to store my wines, unfortunately cool dry basements are unheard of in my area. I don’t have much extra space, where is the best place to store my wines?

Thanks,

Shibb

Paint Markers - The winemakers here use them to sign bottles. We use them in our dept… to take notes or mark bottles for whatever reason.

As for where to store your wine, it depends on how long you plan to store them. If they are bottles that you are keeping to drink with dinner, etc. over say the next year or so, not really long term, then on a rack in your living room or whatever is fine. Not near any heating vents, not near any windows or sunlight. Not anywhere where a lot of movement or vibrations will be going on.

If you mean store them for longer than 2 or 3 years, maybe a closet or pantry or something.

From here. How much does the alcohol content of wine drop when it is left out overnight?
