Anyone else get goosebumps when they hear the phrase Aslan is on the move?
Well, with Liam Neeson doing his voice, I’m optimistic…
Oh yes! I just saw the trailer for TLTWATW last week, and I can hardly wait.
We have got to come up (for future reference) with a better abbreviation than TCoN:TLtW&tW. Will CoN:LW&W suffice?
How about N1? Short and to the point.
I love it! N1 it shall be, in my posts.
::shivers::
Orual, your name isn’t Edmund, is it?
Oh, I forgot about this! Wheeee!
Hey! It was a happy shiver!
I just finished reading all seven books, which have been republished in a nice single-volume paperback edition. Really a good read. All the Christian symbolism makes me a little queasy, but that’s made up for by the good storytelling and vivid imagery. (Though the very ending of The Last Battle reminded me of a Chick tract.)
Two objections.

Although The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was the first book published, it’s not the first one in chronological order. The new paperback edition places them in the order that Lewis allegedly preferred, which is (mostly) chronological: The Magician’s Nephew; The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; The Horse and His Boy; Prince Caspian; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair; and The Last Battle.

We don’t need an abbreviation. If you like the book, it’s not that much of a chore to type out The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We have enough stupid abbreviations on this board already.
Tilda Swinton seems like a good choice for the White Witch (in the upcoming movie). Oddly, both Liam Neeson and Brian Cox are listed as doing Aslan’s voice.
N1 And I prefer the books in the order they were released!
Meant to say “N1 it is then!” Oops.
Satan put the Narnia books in chronological order!
I forget who said this, but I find it to be broadly true: if you read the books in chronological order, as opposed to starting with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, you’re just not as likely to read the rest of the Narnia books.
N1 it is!
When I was a kid I HATED Magician’s Nephew. If I’d read it first I’d never have read the others. I don’t mind reading them chronologically now, but if I were introducing them to a kid, I’d do it in order of publication, no doubt at all.
As for the OP’s question…shudder The funny part is, I’m not Christian at all, but Aslan is so very cool that I think I’d follow him if I were in Narnia.
I am really looking forward to December. N1 works for me.
Is the plan to make all of the books into films, provided this first one is as successful as it seem like it will be fo course. The reason I ask is because from what I remember from reading them as a kid there are a couple in there that I don’t think are all that good. Namely, The Last Battle, *The Magician’s Nepehw * and The Silver Chair.
Oh!
Santa Claus Santa Claus Santa Claus
Huh? Oh, alright.
Father Christmas Father Christmas Father Christmas
Will Father Christmas be in the movie? (I hope so; if they change it that much, there’s no point in even doing a movie.) I love the fact that Father Christmas hands out lethal weapons.
