Pretty enough, I guess, but from what I’ve read she’s almost as evil as Bashar.
Beauty is a personal thing. I don’t see much attraction to her. She looks rather plain. Maybe the “girl next door” look is what the king prefers.

Well, it is all in context. For the spouse of a head of state she is pretty high up there.
I mean, if you compare he with ladies like Thatcher, Merkel, Barbara Bush, or Hillary Clinton, then it is a no contest.

She’s a nice bit of old, I guess. But just as with Palin, suspecting the horror that goes on behind those lovely eyes is more than enough to “shrink me like a spider on a hot stove.”
She’s attractive, certainly - and as a British-Syrian, I expect she’s got a nice accent. But I can think of two or three women in my own circle of friends who are roughly the same age as Ms. Assad, significantly more attractive, and actually splendid human beings. Not impressed.
