Lips, do see a doctor, please. My limited understanding is that the opiates - codeine and the like - are not particularly damaging to the body at all when taken at normal doses for pain relief. You may well be better off taking Tylenol with Codeine or something than taking high doses of OTC pills. Obviously I’m not a doctor, but your doctor should evaluate it; they may decide that something else more effective would be less likely to damage your internal organs over the long run.
