Remember how the earlier games and to an extent Syndicate had two or three types of weapon, but the important thing was that you anticipated your opponents’ moves and used the right tactic for the right foe?

Not really. I remember holding a sword and pressing block button, attack button, block button, attack button, etc. until the enemies were dead (and on rare occasions, using a smoke bomb or medicine).
