Asshole ex-sniper makes recommendations to the DC killer on the Today Show.

Just watching the fricking today show where Katie is interviewing some ex-sniper. The guy says “We know he’s an amateur because he’s leaving his shell casings at the scene.” What a fucking tool. Why don’t you recommend a good urban ghillie suit tool you fuck.

According to the reports I’ve been reading, he has not been leaving his shells at the scene. Newsweek reported investigators were speculating he was shooting from inside a vehicle based on the absence of casings. In any event, it can hardly be a revelation to the wacko that leaving your brass behind is a bad idea.

Bah. I’ve never been in the forces, let alone a trained sniper and I’d know not to leave casings behind. If a sniper did, he’d do it on purpose.

Besides, there are now unconfirmed reports he’s only done it now to leave a business card behind, as to taunt the cops.

Huh, I wonder why he said that. I haven’t been following the story closely so I wasn’t aware that most reports indicate he hasn’t been leaving shells. So I amend my rant:

What a fucking idiot. There was some ex-sniper on the Today show who can’t even get his facts straight. Doesn’t he read the news? The sniper didn’t leave the fricking casings behind!

A CNN article from today says they found a casing near the middle school where yesterday’s incident took place, and they are trying to determine if it was from this incident or not. So it’s not confirmed yet that I’m aware of that the killer is leaving casings.

I thought I’d read they recovered a casing from the site of a previous incident, but can’t find anything on it at the moment - again, it wasn’t clear if it was from the killer or not.

Whoever is behind this obviously knows quite a bit about what they are doing, and I doubt needs to watch TV for advice.

With a bit of luck this asshole might be starting to get cocky, leaving handwritten calling cards - I just hope its not a copycat. My thoughts are with everyone in the local area. Hope they get himsoon

Here’s hoping he doesn’t start leaving letters like this:

Was the ex-sniper giving recommendations, or drawing deductions?

Not “You fool, stop leaving your casings at the scene”, but “The police shouldn’t waste their time looking at trained snipers, because this guy is making rookie mistakes”.

Regards,
Shodan

Actually Many of the Ripper letters were just sent by crackpots or people with really twisted senses of humour.

Chances are you may get those types today and that is what we have to hope against. They will waste time and manpower from the case as the Police would have to verify their authenticity.

After speaking to my father (ex Recon Marine Sniper/Vietnam Vet,) he doubts that this guy has any particular special training, and certainly not Sniper training.

He thinks we basically have a thrillseeker with a varmint gun playing sniper.

His choice of caliber is surprising. It doesn’t give him anywhere near the range that a trained Sniper has been taught to work at, nor is he even making effective use of the weapon he is using.

Assuming his goal is not to get caught, it would make sense for him to work close to the effective limits of his range.

Yeah, that something you learn when you get a sniper MOS. “Be sure to gather up your brass when your done, otherwise the EU might charge you with a crime against humanity” or maybe not, the US seems to be getting an exemption.

WTH does this have to do with being accurate with a gun?
