Assistance with PC credit card

Hi,

I got a letter about 1 month or 2 months ago regarding my pc credit card.

Basically the letter said that since I haven’t used the credit card for a long time that President’s Choice would be offering me a lower interest rate of 7.9% or something like that.

Now I called the president’s choice credit card phone line to transfer a balance today and they said there is no such promotion or ever was.

I’m positive that the letter said that if you use the card, you get the interest rate of 7.9%.
this is pissing me off that PC denies ever sending this letter.

Now i know i’m not losing my mind… so did anybody get a letter like this from PC and would you have a copy of it?

Please somebody have one so I’m not losing my mind…

BTW I’m in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Sorry, I don’t mean to rip you, but I’m a little foggy here:

You got a promotional mailing of some sort from your credit card company. You apparently lost / misplaced / had stolen the letter after reading it. So then you called the CC company (2 months later) and tried to take advantage of the offer, even though you weren’t really clear on what it was because you didn’t have it with you. You had no promotional offer code to quote, no name to reference, and couldn’t even provide as much as a physical description of the letterhead?

Now, you’re damn sure it was an offer exactly as you describe (even though you don’t have the actual mailing) and you’re getting pissy with the CSR for not knowing exactly what you’re talking about.
All signs point to you having mis-understood the original mailing. It could have been ‘balance transfer’ cheques, a tactic often used to get you to transfer your balance form other cards. It may have been advertising a different type of card at 7.9%.

Looking at their website I see they are currently offering an interest rate of 4.97% on balance transfers of $300 or more. Even if the CSR had no idea what you received in the mail, I find it odd that she didn’t offer you this.

I can’t help but feel there are a few parts missing from this story.

PS: If you get an email from a desperate soul in Nigeria looking for help to smuggle out a ‘lost’ fortune, just delete it.
