Well, the doc recommended that I lose 10 pounds. Given that I live in a neighborhood with no street lights and it’s very, very cold out now, running is out for a while. I’m also broke, so I can’t buy any new equipment right now, and my treadmill is broken.
Anyone have a link to a decent no-equipment at-home workout, or even just a list of exercises? I’ve Googled a little, and the top results are all paid links to Men’s Health workouts or other pay sites. Someone here on the Dope must have some good plan!

You need to be a member to access all the workouts but it’s free and they don’t spam your email.
Ignore the “hard-ass” attitude of some of the members, they know their stuff when it comes to bodyweight work. Other other things, not so much.
A set of relatively inexpensive (around $ 13.00) rubber band style exercisers will give you quite a workout if used correctly. I can bench over 290 lbs, but a few minutes on the bands at high tension and using proper form will throughly kick my ass.
A pair of dumbbells are always up for collection from people whom don’t need them anymore. Have you looked into the local papers, recycler type pages and such?
If you’re not interested in weights, then any calisthenic program will help towards fat loss.
Remember, weight loss starts with diet and ends with diet.
I had the same problem doing it on wood floors. Do you have a carpeted area or maybe a yoga mat you can put down that will help cushion some of the motions that are more stressful on your knees?
I always suggest a kettle bell in situations like this, mainly because I have one and like it. You can find about a million exercises for them on Youtube. Just find 5 or 6 that work different areas and string them together, doing 3 sets of an appropriate number of reps each, and you’ve got a pretty decent 20-30 minute workout. Switch up the exercises every once in a while so you don’t get bored and you’ll be fit in no time.
If you have a DVR set it to record some yoga shows. There is a wide variation in the workouts, and I find some to be excruciatingly obnoxious, but one or the other is sure to be to your taste.
