At Last! Rickey Jackson makes the NFL Hall of Fame

Should have happened sooner.

#57 was, and is, my all time favorite linebacker. Guy was the heart and soul of The Dome Patrol–the greatest group of linebackers to ever play together. I even forgave him for briefly defecting to former division rival San Francisco long enough to win a Super Bowl.

Oh yeah, they let some other people in the Hall today too. Some receiver from Mississippi, and a running back from Florida top the list.

I wouldn’t want to be the dude who screwed up Rickey’s name at the announcement. That’s a good way to get yourself sacked.

I was thrilled that two University of Pittsburgh alums, Jackson and Grimm, made the Hall in the same year. Wooo!

Rickey looked pretty good during the coin flip at the Super Bowl, all things considered. Didn’t quite look like he could still suit up and play, but if there was an NFL Senior Tour, he’d still be crunching quarterbacks. Also, it was great to know he was there when the Saints finally won the Super Bowl. I still love Archie, but Rickey may be the guy that best personifies the Saints.
