At Last! Sharks with Lasers, for Real! ..Oh, wait...Zebrafish?

At the 2021 Biophotonics Congress they presented a paper on implanting tiny lasers in Zebrafish.

But not because it was cool. They were using them to measure heart rates.

Maybe they’ll eventually move on to monitoring sharks.

Here’s a report on it:

The actual paper:

Scott Evil will be proud.

But is it a frikking laser?

People have been messing with zebra fish for some time. Harmless little aquarium residents.
They were being filled with fluorescent dye at some point to trace something about flooding in Florida.

Alas, it isn’t Archerfish, but they come equipped with water-jet cannon stupidly accurate to a full meter already. It won’t put your eye out, but your cigarette is toast.

Hey catfish bark like dogs.

Nature be weird.
