What if Quantum Mechanics, and the law of attraction are correct. In that case then everyone would go to the heaven of their choice. Atheists would experience nothing and never be heard from again, while Christians would be praising God in a Pearl Church on golden roads, and people like me would just be enjoying spiritual life, which is different, but similar to physical life.
Please do not tell us your definition of Quantum Mechanics, because that particular hijack would lead us nowhere. On the other hand, what is the “law of attraction”?

Fool of a Took!
Do you know what you’ve done? Do you not see what you have unleashed?!?!?!
Law of Attraction: If you wish hard enough for something, it will come true. But you have to wish hard enough.
It’s from that book, ‘The Secret’. (Contrawise, everything bad that happens to people? They wished for it.)
Sorry, not even close. No cigar.
This post has given me the greatest laugh in years. ![]()
Right on schedule, a hijack call from a mod on the first post. Then I have to explain it to him. Well, basically it is the law of like attracts like, if you want more start a new thread so we won’t bother others with our hijack.
I don’t have a definition of Quantum Mechanics since I didn’t discover it. But I could give you the definition of those that did discover it.
I will take a blind stab at this in the hope of preempting this hijack: you probably mean multiple universe theory and not quantum mechanics. We don’t need a tangent where multiple posters try to explain multiple universe theory or quantum mechanics because it doesn’t relate to this thread and I doubt it would go anywhere productive. Some scientists and others do think quantum mechanics suggest there are many universes in which all possible outcomes take place. In no way does that imply everybody gets their own heaven, but if that’s your spiritual interpretation, then what the hell.
There, hijack over. Nobody needs to post about this any further, including lekatt.
To post about this hijack further, speculation based on any theory of science about what would happen based on that theory is pretty much irrelevent to this thread. I mean, my theory of science leads me to believe that there is no afterlife, but so what?
This thread is about wishful thinking. What we’d like. Forget being based on quantum mechanics; it could be completely impossible and still be an acceptible heaven.
No Marley, I meant what I said. Nothing about multiple universes. But according to the rest of the posts, they were pretty much getting what they wanted for a heaven. What I posted was just a continuation of that theme. So if I posted a hijack then most others have also. OK, you don’t have to be irrational, I will not post here again. It’s kind of funny last time I got called for a hijack was in a thread made for me to post in by you.
Then there’s the ghastly possibility that the “spiritual” will all be punished by the Gods for their transgressions during life by being immersed in the fires of Hell to exist in screaming agony forever, while atheists who lived up to their creed and remained unbelievers get a free pass, and an ultra-long nap.
Yes, you are correct, I shouldn’t have left that out. Thanks. All who believe they will burn in hell, shall do so.
Equal parts agnostic and patheist here.
Heaven would include all souls of all times living in forgiveness and harmony. It would include Hitler genuinely apologizing to the Jews and the Jews sincerely forgiving him. It would include Fred Phelps expressing love and warmth towards homosexuals and them reciprocating. It would include Kissinger and Chomsky holding hands and singing Dylan’s, “Blowin’ in the Wind.” Heaven would transcend time allowing for all humanity to be present, and transcend barriers allowing love and only love for one another.
Heaven is about inclusion, acceptance, community. And PEACE.
Hitler getting away with an apology would be my Hell. This implies that you can do whatever you please so long as you later regret doing it.
How about the ability to discover the answers to all of the questions? I’d like a big library full of all of the knowledge in the Universe, so I could learn my fill. When I feel the need to go exploring I’d like to visit any part of the Universe, at any time during its existence, to observe at any rate of time I choose. (Watching the Earth form and cool from a molten ball would be particularly interesting.) When I’m feeling a bit lonely I’ll join my loved ones and former pets for meals, where we can eat whatever we want for as long as we want the conversation to continue.
And the Lion shall lay down with the Lamb. Beautiful. I will take this to be my Heaven.
