Attack of the Too-Tall Woman

I am really late to this thread… but you 6’5" + guys -

Where the fuck are you? and are you single?

My last boyfriend was 6’8" 280, he was the first person to make me feel like I was a normal size. I am 5’11+ and about 175 and most guys leave me feeling like a giantess from some fantasy novel, but without the cool weapons.

I was in cowgirl heaven when I discovered Rocky Mountain jeans were long enough to actually crinkle over my Ropers!
Wearing my Resistol straw hat, I had all the cool weapons any tall girl needed…
I did have trouble with the above-the-knee hemline rule when I worked for Leggs/Hanes/Bali/Platex, though. A skirt 4 inches above the knee looked matronly on me and indecent on my 4’10" co-worker Bea!

Figimingle,
You said the Easy Fit jeans have inseams up to 37". But they’re men’s jeans, right? Do they accomodate woman-type hips without that gap at the waist? My daughter is 6’ and we’re having one heck of a time finding jeans she can wear. She’s slim but she definitely has hips. (Sorry, sweetie.) I’m avidly reading this thread for suggestions of where to shop.

Tall women look great no matter what they’re wearing!
Oh god yes!

Well, that’s easily enough fixed…

I once dated a thin, petite woman who did a lot of her shopping in the boy’s department. She was pretty butch, so that worked out okay for her (I don’t think she even owned a skirt or dress…).

MercyStreet, I think you’re just stuck with being tall and gorgeous.

Wait a minute …

you mean all women don’t come in one of three sizes, Small, Medium or Large?

Colour me surprised !

(Another one chiming in from the short tall group- I’m 5’10")
When I was in high school (the dawgawful 80’s), ankle boots were in. HALLELUJAH! I would pin the ankles of my highwaters, cuff my socks around them, and wear them tucked in my boots.

Highwaters, the bane of tall girls.

Now, being erm, rubinesque, in addition to being tall, clothes either are gaudy “SEE THE FAT AMAZON IN GOLD LAME” style, or way out of my price range.

However, just last week, I purchased my first pair of capris. LilMiss bugged me into them. They initially brought back the highwater scare, but now I can deal with them.

Oh, and tall guys? Bless you for being you. The first fiance was 6’6", wore 30x38 pants. Was very difficult finding him denims jeans. And like someone said above, it was heaven actually feeling “small”.

Oh! What I initially meant to write–
For a long torso swimsuit, go for Speedo. They look better then they used to, and I have always been able to get them at sports stores in tall.

My girlfriend is 6 foot 1. She has the same problem, until reciently when she started stealing all my stuff. Not a shirt or pair of blue jeans are safe here at casa de Osip. Thank goodness she have smaller feet. She has been making her own dresses and frilly thngs.

So just when is the Fashion Revolution?

You know, the one where you women finally get pissed at the companies that can’t make decent clothes that fit real women for a reasonable amount of money?

Storm the barricades, burn a few supermodels, throw a shipment of lingerie into the harbor, that sort of thing.

It’s long overdue.

Hey wait a minute!!! I bumped this thread up to find the tall guys

It does me NO good for the women to share in my misery;) I need a tall, handsome man in the DC metro area to come rescue me
