I’m disappointed with the packaging. Why on earth couldn’t they be consistent? Do they think we’ll spring for the boxed set later?
So far I’ve listened to the commentaries for episodes 5.1 and 5.3. Clark Johnson is a hoot! Guy’s got a real smart mouth on him.
Some interesting tidbits – the actors who played D’Angelo Barksdale and Alma Gutierrez (Larry Gilliard and Michele Paress) are married in real life. Gilliard is a classically trained clarinetist – went to Julliard – and Lance Reddick (Cedric Daniels) is a classically trained pianist.
Watching the first three episodes close together makes what McNulty did a little easier to swallow. Wendell Pierce (Bunk) has some insightful things to say about that.
