Your link explains it nicely, but I figured someone in her office would be able to pull the ethics opinion directly since she was hunting for case law.

Does your state bar make LEOs available online? I was surprised to see that the DC bar has them available on its website. Virginia’s are available online although not from the bar. One attorney has even created a summary database which is searchable which is surprisingly useful when you need to know someone quickly.

Yes. http://www.michbar.org/opinions/ethicsopinions.cfm (but only from October 1988 to the present). Similarly hit-and-miss among the states are attorney general opinions.
