Auggh! Did I just kill my potted palms?

Augh… did I just kill my OP? I’m not doing well today. First my first ever double post, and now this…

What the heck happened?

Anyway, the story is that I sprayed my potted palms with a solution of Folex spot remover instead of the intended water. I rinsed the foliage well under the shower, but I couldn’t rinse the dirt out since the pots don’t drain.

What will this detergent do to my palms?

(Not turn them rosy… duh…)

I’m no chemist, but the MSDS makes Folex sound a lot like soap. I doubt that it will kill them, but it probably didn’t do any good.

I guess you’ll find out.
Some detergents make effective insecticides, and are used on plants to kill spider mites and the like. However:

Against that, the link you provided claims that Folex is"Non-Toxic, completely non-irritating to normal skin," plus you rinsed the stuff off. Your palms may pull through.

Hmm… these plants were forming some sort of black scale or scars on the stalks… like something was growing or sucking there…

Maybe I did them a favor!
