Congratulations, Mops!

My stats today: same as current weight last week, but I’m not disheartened - I’ve already lost .5 from my waist! Must be the working out - I got in 5 days last week, two of them strength training, which historically slows or even somewhat reverses my weight loss for a couple of weeks.

One of my biggest challenges with weight loss is balancing my appetite with my husband’s. It took me a long time to develop the discipline to avoid dividing things exactly in half - I can leave some food behind in the pot or on the serving dish because I don’t need to eat as much as my husband.

My husband is fairly trim, though developing a paunch (which he’s not happy about), and he’s always eaten whatever sounds good to him. So I was doubly proud of myself when I managed to eat just one slice of pizza and fill out the rest of the meal with a salad instead of eating half a large pizza (again, dividing things exactly in half). I felt comfortable and not particularly tempted to get another piece. It was the first time in three or four years I haven’t felt like vomiting after eating pizza.

Starting Weight: **242 **(Jan 2010)
Current Weight: **175 **(after a run, I cheat :slight_smile: )
Goal Weight: 170

I’m getting closer to my goal. Things are slowing down but I suspected that would happen as I got closer. I hiked/ran a 31.5 mile, 9,000’ elevation gain loop two weekends ago in under 13 hours, something I never thought I was capable of until recently. And I’ve got another half marathon coming up in October so I’m achieving my fitness goals regardless of the scale.
