Does anyone know how much the Australian Government spent on sports funding in 2008 (and if possible, past years?).
Im mainly talking about the Australian Institute of Sports, but other stats would be good aswell.
Information on the 2008 budget is pretty limited but this statement for 2006/2007 gives a budget of $204million for the Australian Sports Commission (which oversees and divvies up money for the AIS) with $125million devoted to high performance sport. There are more details on there about specific budgets for the AIS’s scholarship program.
The 2008/2009 budget just seems to indicate maintenance of existing programs.
