I stumbled into their website and it sounds like a very interesting product. Is this a big thing in Australia, or is it still a fringe company?
I’ve not heard of that particular company or its products. But the basic principle of a compost bucket/heap is quite popular. I have one in my backyard. Once the scraps have broken down the resulting mulch goes onto the garden.
Worm farms are quite common too.
- 1 for never heard of this product, but I also have a compost bin in the garden - my local council sells subsidised bins and worm farms to help with waste reduction - fairly common here to have one I think.
My parents, who live in Australia, have a similar product in their back yard. As Cunctator says, they’re not uncommon. Never heard of this particular brand, but that doesn’t really mean much.
Another +1 for not having heard of the company, but yeah… while I don’t have a garden, I know a few folks who do and who have similar composting systems.
Never heard of it however it looks like a great idea and if it got a guernsey on Better Homes and Gardens it will no doubt be good.
But like everyone else, everyone I know has an old style compost bin.
I just heard about this last week, at work. We have decided to go with a company wormery instead though. I am to be the designated worm wrangler.
Another Australian who is a keen composter, and have never heard of this product. On the size shown, we’d have it filled in a day or two and then what? Maybe lots of them stuck around the house? But anything which encourages composting has to be good.
