Have any of you fellow Aussie’s actually got one of these Channel 7 dots? On the ad they claim that if you stick it on your TV screen it “charges up” and if you change the channel it ruins it. You then send the “charged up” dot to Channel 7 to win prizes.
So I sent away for a dot, and got one. Now is it just me, or is this “dot” nothing but a thick piece of cardboard? I pulled mine apart and that’s all it seemed to be. Any ideas?
Anything that comes from Channel Seven has to be viewed with some cynicism, given that they routinely cater for the lowest common denominator in audience demographics.
I can’t believe that a Fellow Doper has fallen for something like this.
I imagine they have a Gullible Fool’s Half Hour, where they broadcast for public ridicule the names of those people who sent back their ‘charged dot’ in hope of prizes.
God damn channel seven. They had the worst adds over the Olympics. I heard a bit about the dots on triple J i think. Somethin about light frequency response. Is there any visible change after they have been charged? If anyone actually bothered with this…
something to do with the light. A mate of mine and I tried using a 50 000 candlepower spotlight on it for a couple of minutes, but reckon it woulda had to have been 20 000/1 of winning.
On top of that, do you think they would have actually tested each dot to see if it had been “activated”? :wally
