Australians: Do you tip?

I’ve become a lot better at picking up the differences since watching a lot of Ice Pilots. I don’t have to listen for the “oot and aboots” now.

Only taxi drivers. It is not expected elsewhere in Australia in my experience.

However, when overseas I have no problem tipping. The biggest problem I find is working out which countries actually expect it (and the Lonely Planet is more wrong than right in this regard).

Our business studies lecturer told us that the great problem with doing business in Malaysia is not paying off the people you do business with. It is that the system by which people are paid is easily corrupted when you didn’t know how much and to whom you are required/expected to pay

I never noticed there were so many lakes in Australia.

Many of those lakes often have little or no water in them: they might fill up every two or three years after significant rain.

Yeah, they are largely salt lakes.
