I’ve just read a cheap polarizing engagement-driven online article about a cheap political attack by Justice Todd Evens of the Hawaii Supreme Court, on the cheap politics of John Roberts and the US Supreme Court, in which the Evens judgement is referenced:
The whole record, Eddins argued, freed Hawaii to disregard the Court
What is the technical relationship between the Hawaii Supreme Court and USSC?
Do you have a cheap polarizing link or sumthin’?
Both may make their rulings, but it is up to executive branch agencies (state and federal) to enforce them. That is the closest thing to a hard and fast “relationship” if one court determined to disregard the other’s interpretation of the law.
But if things were operating like normal, SCOTIS would defer to Hawaii’s Supreme Court on questions of state law, and vice versa on questions of federal law.
